Art Dump 1 (Late 2015 - Feb 2016)

These are all sketches, school assignments or personal work (some which I'm not too prideful of) that I messily complied. I thought this sketches might interest those who are like my work.

I couldn't be bothered to compile these properly so they're all over the place. But the top left is a school assignment which is to explore given styles for your own story, with a brief storyboard placed at the very bottom featuring a hawker store auntie spreading gossip.

Yes that's a drawing of myself at the top left where I'm holding a camera in suspenders. Try to spot another two more sketches of me!

If any of you are fans of The Tribe Series, you'll spot two fanart works of the Mallrat girls at the top right.

The photo of several fanart of Sonic the Hedgehog, Aku Aku, Uka Uka and OCs are my only Inktober works from last October. They were done with copic markers, too bad I only did one page, school kept me soooooooooo busy.  

The development sketches of my anteater creature from the illustration "The Spirit of Sima Humboldt" are at the top left and bottom right.

You can see my turntable and expression sheet for my Post-Apocalyptic Bazooka Fighter on the top right corner. The development for the design is at the bottom with the different human studies. He was pretty much inspired by Owen (albeit with a weapon instead), a original character I'll talk about below..

The middle section that has a character named Owen and a storyboard featuring him was my rejected FYP story pitch. Here's a synopsis:

"In a ruined earth an evil empire is in control and are trying to enslave everyone. However, some have evaded capture and hide amongst the city ruins, unfortunately everyone is independent on survival and refuse to cooperate with each other. A young teen boy, Owen, hides alone amongst the city ruins until he runs into a starving toddler on the dangerous streets, having a compassionate heart, he cannot bear to leave the young toddler alone but brings him back to his hideout to nourish and also trust for the first time in ages. Unfortunately the toddler steals his food and runs off, leaving Owen very betrayed. His secret hiding place is eventually discovered by the empire's patrols but he manages to escape only being hurt on his right arm. As Owen tries to regather from the mess, he spots a bunch of teens fighting patrols who are on the verge of losing. Owen is hesitate to help having just been betrayed, but jumps in anyway to save them. The teens doubt his sincerity until the toddler reappears to defend him, he explains what Owen did for him and that the toddler stole his food to save the starving teens, revealing the toddler to belong with them. Owen is accepted amongst this group who wish to rid the world of the evil empire like him and it ends on an optimistic note."

The story was rejected for being too long with too many characters. I still plan on reworking this story as I want to create my own Post-Apocalyptic series like Mad Max or The Tribe.

The elderly sketches near the bottom left are gestures from a school outing to Chinatown, so as to study old people's features, looks to clean to be gestures sigh. :/

The digital Greyscale Studies on the bottom left are my mood studies for a Matte Painting assignment which I did photo-realistically.
